Opening of St. Gobnaits Park All Weather Pitch

14 Oct 2020 by Mallow United PRO

Mallow United are delighted to announce that from this week all our teams training sessions, our Boys Academy and our Girls Academy will take place at our new astroturf in St. Gobnaits Park.
Although the full development project at St. Gobnaits which includes the upgrade of the grass pitch is not completed, the opening of the all-weather pitch marks a significant milestone for the club and is the culmination of years of planning and hard work. The grass pitch is planned to be opened in autumn 2021. The club would like to thank all those who have supported the project to date including the local residents, Cork County Council, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership, The Department of Transport Tourism and Sport and Clann Credo.
Special credit is due to Mallow United chairman Tim Barrett who has been a major driving force for the club in recent years and whose dedication to the project and to the club is evident in the quality of the facility that is now available to our players and the wider community.
The development work at St. Gobnaits, which has been contracted to Hourihane Sportsfield Development, has been a major financial undertaking for the club. Those who wish to support the project can do so by entering our Club Facilities Draw with further details available here https://mallowunited.teamapp.com/custom_pages/5334-facilities-draw?_detail=v1
The club plans to open the facility to the public next week and is accepting bookings for a limited number of slots it has available for use. To book contact Ger Spillane on 0860790687.
