Excellent weather conditions in recent weeks has allowed the development project at Mallow Uniteds St. Gobnaits Park to move forward at a swift pace. The drainage and base for the all-weather astroturf has been laid with fencing and lighting also installed with the carpet due to arrive this week. Earthworks have been completed for the grass pitch including the deeper level drainage with work started on the laying of topsoil in preparation for secondary drainage, sand carpet and seeding. Work on the car park and footpaths has also started. The project, with the astroturf due to be opened in October is an exciting development for grassroots soccer in Mallow.
