Richmond 0 – 1 Mallow United A

Mallow United U14 A who beat Richmond 1-0 in a tough hard fought game. Things didn’t start great for Mallow United when they had to change their starting line up before the game with Billy O Hanlon getting injured in the warm up. First half Mark Kelleher kept Mallow in the game with some fine saves and safe hands. First half saw Donagh Merritt and Kevin Looney coming off with knocks being replaced by Evan Sheahan and Kennedy Plaku. Mallow started the second half by pressing Richmond and got the goal they deserved in the 44th minute when Kennedys shot came off the upright and the lethal Daniel Weedle in the box he wasn’t going to miss the goal from 4 yards. Richmond put the pressure on but Tomás Fennell bossed the midfield and Cathal Buckley in outstanding for Richmond found it hard to get the equalizer. Mark Kelleher put in a man of the match performance and topped it off when in the 3rd minute of injury time Richmond were awarded a penalty which was brilliantly saved by Mark.
