The efforts of Mallow United, to promote participation in sport across all abilities was recognised last Wednesday night when the club was named Inclusive Club of the Year at the annual Cork Schoolboys League awards night.

Mallow United has been an integral part of the community in Mallow since it was first established in 1926. The club has fielded an adult mens team since it was first founded, initially in the Cork Junior Leagues and later in the Munster Senior League. The club began to field boys teams in the 1970s and currently fields multiple boys teams in each age group which allows each child to be part of a squad competing in a division suited to their ability. In recent years Mallow United has introduced girls soccer and Football For All which caters for all abilities, welcoming many new members into the club. Mallow United Football for All, under the leadership of Sandra Cronin, caters for boys and girls from U5 to U17 and promotes physical activity in a fun environment.
Mallow United currently has over 500 playing members throughout the different sections of the club which includes the Boys Academy, Girls Academy, Football for All, Schoolgirls, Schoolboys, Youths and Mens.

The Inclusive Club of the Year award is something the club is extremely proud of and a significant milestone in the continued growth of the club which will see the addition of many new members across all abilities and age groups over the coming years.
