U15 Boys Take Premier Division Title

1 Jun 2019 by Mallow United PRO

After finishing as premier division runners up for the last 4 seasons it would be hard to find a team more deserving of a league title than Mallows U15 Boys and coaches Derek Fortune and Prince Amechi.

A second half brace from Kennedy Amechi gave Mallow a 2-0 advantage over Richmond at St. Gobnaits Park on Saturday morning which was enough to take 3 points and seal the league title with one game remaining.

The previous Tuesday the U15 Boys finished runners up in the Local Cup final at Turners Cross, after defeating Corinthians Boys at the semi-final stage were up against Richmond in the final. After going down to two first half goals Mallow fought hard in the second half getting a goal back but time ran out and they were unable to complete the comeback.

Mallow United U15 and U13 Boys thus finish their seasons as league champions and cup runners up, a superb year for both sides and a credit to the players, coaches and parents who made it all possible.
