CYL Division 1A
Mallow United 7 – 0 Riverstown

Mallow Uniteds U18 Boys continued their fine form this season with a convincing win over Riverstown in the Town Park on Saturday. Mallow took an early lead when Adam McGrath created the opportunity for Dean Twomey who took his goal well before having a second ruled out for offside a short time later. Jordan Odunbaku worked hard for Mallow on the right wing putting pressure on the Riverstown defence while McGrath, Trevor O’Driscoll and Jack O’Callaghan added to the Mallow attack. Riverstown created some first half opportunities however Josh Wilkinson, Jake Buckley, Dom Bolster and Killian O’Brien stood firm in the Mallow defence. Seon Armstrong got in behind the Riverstown defence to set up Jack O’Callaghan for Mallows second before Armstrong got on the scoresheet himself after a well worked goal which started from the Mallow defence. The second half continued in similar style to the first with Jack O’Callaghan getting on the end of a Killian O’Brien cross to make it 4-0 and O’Callaghan completed his hat-trick three minutes later capitalising on a Riverstown defensive error. With the result already decided Kevin Omoro was taken down for a penalty which O’Callaghan slotted home and minutes later a Sam Mangan shot was blocked before falling to the feet of Trevor O’Driscoll who made no mistake making it 7-0 to Mallow. Mallow remain top of Division 1A and with six games to play have given themselves every chance to challenge for league honours.
