Mallow Uniteds U12 Boys National Cup adventure will continue into the quarter final stage following a hard fought win away to Shannon Hibernians today. Mallow found themselves trailing by a goal at half-time but a Dylan O’Connell equaliser brought them level and with the game tied at 1-1 at the end of normal time extra time was required. With the teams dead-locked after the extra period penalties were then required to separate the teams. Two saves from Den Joe O’Riordan in the Mallow goal along with penalties scored by Adam O’Brien, Cormac Fitzgerald, Louie Power and Aaron Murphy sees Mallow through to the last 8 of the competition. Well done boys!
