All three Mallow United U13 sides were in league action at the weekend. In the U13 Premier Division Mallow maintained 6th position in the table with a 1-1 draw with Blarney United.
In U13 Division 6 Mallow United U13A had a 2-0 win over league rivals Lakewood Athletic. Mallow currently sit in second place and the win sees them open up a gap on those below them in the chase for promotion. Andrew Sheehan and Craig Hogan got on the scoresheet for Mallow.
Mallow United U13B had a great win over Kinsale on Saturday in the Academy Pitch. Mallow went a goal down after 10 mins but Anthony Jenks pulled one back after 20 mins and the game was tied 1-1 at half-time. Mallow got the upper hand in the 2nd half with Jenks scoring 2 more to complete his hat-trick and Liam Walsh getting a fourth for the home side. Final score Mallow United 4 – Kinsale 1. The 3 points keeps Mallow in 2nd place in Division 4 of the Cork Schoolboys League and firmly in the hunt for promotion.
