Dossov in Top Form for U12A

Mallow United’s Lord Dossov scored two and provided an assist for the third as the U12 A side had a well deserved victory over Mallow Town at St. Josephs road last Saturday afternoon. Mallow United started well, but failed to capitalise on their early dominance and Mallow Town eventually settled into the game creating a great chance only for a combination of Roman Hogan in goal and man of match Eddy Walsh to keep them at bay.

United then had a great opportunity to score mid-way through the first half when the tireless Adam Roche crossed for Shane O’Neill who failed to control the ball onto this favoured left foot and the chance was snuffed out. The half remained very tight with Billy O’Hanlon and Darragh O’Shea holding firm in the United defence and chances were at a premium. Mallow United fashioned only one half chance before the break and the 0-0 half-time score was a fair reflection of the game.

The game turned in the second half however with Dossov opening the scoring for Mallow United after 42 minutes slotting home direct from a well taken corner. As the half progressed Jack Roche, Kevin Looney and Jamie Lowe helped United to gain control in midfield while Leon Atanda added to the threat up front. Minutes later Mallow United capatalised on uncertainty in the opponents defence with Sam Grogan linking well with Adam Roche to put him through for a shot at goal only for Roche to be taken down inside the box. Dossov comfortably converted the resulting penalty to give Mallow United a firm grip on the game. On the 55 minute mark another fantastic pinpoint Lord Dossov corner picked out Shane O’Neill who rose highest to head the past the Mallow Town keeper to make it 3 – 0 to the home side and a comfortable win at St. Josephs Road.
