U18s and U14s Progress to Last 32 of National Competitions

Mallow United U18s and U14s progressed to the last 32 of their respective National Cup competitions at the weekend which means that four Mallow United teams have now made it to that stage with the U15s and U13s having already done so two weeks ago.

In the FAI Youth Cup Mallow faced Leeds and for the second time in two weeks there was nothing to separate the sides after 90 minutes. Enoch Khanyile had grabbed a goal for Mallow in each half and with the score tied at 2-2 extra-time was required. In the first period of extra time Khanyile completed his hat-trick before Calvin McAuliffe made it 4-2 to Mallow. In the second period Mallow saw out a comfortable win with McAuliffe getting his second and Peter Hyde getting a sixth goal for Mallow. Final score Leeds 2 – 6 Mallow United (AET). Mallow will now travel to Freebooters F.C. of Kilkenny on December 3rd in the last 32 of the competition.

In the U14 National Cup Mallow again faced Leeds with Mallow dominating this one from start to finish. Final Score Mallow United 7 – 1 Leeds.

Well done to all involved and best of luck in the next round.
