Those who were fortunate enough to be in attendance at Mallow United’s Football for All Blitz last Saturday witnessed what was a fantastic occasion for all involved. Mallow United welcomed over 200 players representing 10 different soccer clubs from Dublin, Kilkenny and throughout Munster who all made the journey to St. Marys Secondary School for what proved to be a fun filled afternoon.
On the day there were four different tournaments run in parallel with the Premiership players and the Championship for older and the First Division assisted and First Division unassisted tournaments for younger players. Mallow United were represented by the Mallow United Lions and the Mallow United Tigers who put in great performances on the day.
Well over 500 people were in attendance and were catered for with a great spread in St. Marys School Hall. After the activities on the pitch all players received a medal to mark their achievements and everyone left Mallow after a great workout, stomachs full and smiles on their faces. Mallow United would like to say done to all who participated in their first Football for All Blitz.
The club would also like to thank the many coaches and parents who travelled from far and wide to support their teams, all the local volunteers who gave their help on the day and to the sponsors without whom it wouldn’t have been possible to host such a fantastic event. Mallow United would like to give a special thank you to Sandra Cronin the driving force behind this year’s event.
