Mallow United U12Bs under the guidance of Billy O’Keeffe will face Blarney United A in the play-off for the Cork Schoolboys League U12 Division 5 title. The game takes place this Saturday June 10 at Leeds Park with an 11.30 kick-off.
Having gone unbeaten in nine consecutive league fixtures it is little wonder that Mallow United U12Bs secured promotion with a game to spare in Division 5 of the Cork Schoolboys League.
Mallow have lost only two games throughout the campaign as this team have gone from strength to strength in recent weeks. A solid performance at home to Midleton A last Friday night was enough to secure a 1-1 draw and the point that they needed to become the third Mallow United schoolboy team to be promoted this year.
Not a team to settle for second place, they followed that up with a convincing 3-0 win against Riverstown in Glanmire on Tuesday night. The win was enough to bring them level with Blarney United A at the top of the table and with all games completed it will now come down to a play-off to decide the title.
