The Con Elliot Cup final took place in Rockmount Park on Tuesday evening last where Mallow faced the renowned Corinthians Boys. In what was a fantastic game of football the teams could not be separated after 90 minutes and with the score tied at 1-1 the game went to extra time. Another goal each in the extra-time period brought the score to 2-2 and with nothing between the teams when the final whistle was blown the fixture was to be decided by penalties. Unfortunately for Mallow, Corinthians came out the better on the penalty shoot out winning 4-3 but Mallow United U13A players and coaches left Rockmount Park with their heads held extremely high after a fantastic season. The team is coached by Andrew Cottey, Kieran O’Connor and Spencer Wilkinson.
